My name is Katie and I am a biology instructor and graduate student at UNLV. Before starting with Lauren I had been in therapy before for myriad relationship and addiction type issues. Previously, I was codependent, afraid to speak up for myself (now I can’t shut up), and I wasn’t maximizing my potential or following my dreams. I had been in therapy before working with Lauren, but her vibe is incomparable. Her strong, badass-boss-bitch
vibe coupled with a heartfelt sensitivity is a rare juxtaposition, and is exactly what kept me coming back. She is fearless, open, honest, and doesn’t hold back, which is what I love about her. We worked through my leaving a toxic work environment where I was suffering without really knowing it was recital of toxic familiar (familial) feelings. We worked through my experiences with difficult relationships. We did a lot of work on having difficult conversations and not only how important they are, but how doable and truly cathartic they are.
I changed my entire graduate experience thanks to help with Lauren. I developed the courage to leave a place that did not serve me and was not worthy of my contributions. I feel worthy, a phrase that is new to my inner monologue. I am in a healthy relationship with a partner who unconditionally accepts and loves me, and is willing to do the work (for the first time) to strengthen himself and our relationship. I feel free to be unabashed, honest, authentic, selfish, empowered, and strong. Lauren is an excellent communicator, listener, and mentor. Her high emotional intelligence creates an environment rich in insights, provocative questions, and “aha” moments. Her dedication to her own self development shines through because she has many techniques under her belt. There is never a dull or awkward silence, and one feels completely vulnerable but safe in session. It is truly a pleasure to work with Lauren.
Sidebar: she has impeccable style. Yes, this is part of my journey of growth, because she shows her professionalism and confidence. There is no question. She always looks the part, and it’s inspiring for a young professional like me who is soon entering the workforce.
Any advice for someone considering working with Lauren? DO IT! We regret the things we didn’t do that we knew could’ve created greatness. Working with Lauren, if you really do the work, will create greatness.
